East Greenwich resident Alan M. Shoer was named a firm shareholder at Adler Pollock & Sheehan P.C. effective Jan. 1, after joining the firm as counsel in 2006.

Alan is the chair of the Energy, Telecommunications and Regulated Industries Practice Group and represents various energy, telecommunications and other public utility entities on a variety of issues. His areas of legal expertise include administrative and public utility regulatory law, environmental law, corporate and other commercial laws, as affecting these energy and telecommunications clients.

Prior to joining AP&S, Mr. Shoer served as director of Regulatory Affairs and Assistant General Counsel for two regional telecommunications companies. He was also chief legal counsel for the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management and a special attorney general for the State of Rhode Island.
