JOY FELDMAN, Nutritional Consultant, Offering Free 6 Month Educational Series For Those Living With Breast Cancer
Each month, beginning Jan. 10 and ending June 13, R.I. nutritional consultant Joy Feldman will offer free workshops designed to “help in the pursuit of good health for those living with breast cancer issues” at the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation in Pawtucket. The series, sponsored by the foundation, is being offered free of charge though preregistration is required.
The series, “Are You in Pursuit of Good Health?” consists of six evenings, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The series can be taken as a whole or individual sessions. Classes and topics are:
Jan. 10 – Taking Control of Your Health – The First Step
Feb. 7 – Debunking the Myths Around Food – Food for Thought
March 14 – What’s Cooking? – Making a Great Dinner
April 11 – Complimentary Modalities
May 9 – To Take Supplements or Not To Take Supplements
June 13 – How To Maintain Your Optimal Weight
Feldman is the author of two books: "Joyful Cooking in the Pursuit of Good Health," a cookbook based on the science of nutritional balancing and contains many recipes and reference information. Her book for children and families, "Is Your Hair Made of Donuts?” addresses empowering young children to make healthy food choices. The book will be part of an All-State Read on March 11 at over 170 school locations in R.I., and will recognize National Nutrition Month.
The series with the Gemma Foundation is the second time Feldman has offered her information and training. “These sessions are interactive and will be led by the needs and interests of the group. While the information is for everyone, those that are facing the challenges of illness and who are surviving cancer and wanting to change their lifestyles, together, for a healthier future, can be more successful when working and learning together,” said Feldman.
