Adopt-A-Pet open house: Every Sunday, the East Greenwich Animal Protection League invited in the public to meet the adorable and loving cats and dogs in need of permanent homes. It happens at Greenwich Bay Animal Hospital on Post Road, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Our man in Indy reports: "Last night we flew into Chicago. Then we rented a car and drove to Lafayette Indiana. This morning we headed to Indianapolis and went to NFL Experience and Super Bowl Village. It was a rainy day here in Indianapolis today but there were still tons and tons of people. It seemed to me like there were more Giants fans than Patriots fans. I had a lot of fun today but I can't wait for the Super Bowl tomorrow night." — Joey Allen, 10

Booster Club’s Mardi Gras Is Coming: Support the club that supports EGHS sports all year long, and have a rockin’ good time in the process. The evening takes place Saturday, Feb. 11, at Quidnesset Country Club from 7 to 11 p.m. There will be New Orleans-inspired food and drink, a cash bar, popular local DJ Kickin’ Al, dancing, raffles, masks, and beads.
