'Arts On Main' Takes Place Saturday

The weather looks promising for tomorrow's annual sidewalk chalk picture contest.

Join the festivities for the 12th Annual East Greenwich Arts on Main – a street art festival where the participants create the art! Peirce Street and Courthouse Lane have been  covered with squares of sidewalk-chalk pictures.

The contest takes place Saturday, May 4, from
noon to 3 p.m. The event begins at East Greenwich Town Hall, where participants will be assigned a square on either of the two streets. With the temperature predicted to reach around 65 degrees Saturday, with lots of sun, it should be very pleasant indeed.

Prizes for the best drawings will be awarded for the different categories and all pre-registered participants will receive an exclusive Arts on Main t-shirt. If you aren't up to wielding a stick of chalk yourself, come enjoy the day and vote for your favorite drawing in the People’s Choice Award!

Sponsored by the EG Chamber of Commerce. Rain date is Saturday, May 11.

With some of the street art taking place on Peirce Street too, it'll be an easy walk to the library!
