Driving On A Baseball Field During A Tropical Storm

Information about the following arrests was supplied by the East Greenwich Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Aug. 23

12:15 a.m. - Police arrested Michael Fay, 37, of Cranston, on charges of driving while intoxicated and refusing to submit to an alcohol breath test after police noticed his gray Saab speeding on Division Street near Sanctuary Drive. Fay was stopped near the on-ramp for Route 4. According to the report, police smelled alcohol on Fay, who said he was driving home from work. After Fay failed field sobriety tests, police arrested him and took him to the station. He refused the breath test and was given a court date. His car was towed from the scene.

Wednesday, Aug. 24

9:15 p.m. - Police arrested Donna Daniels, 41, of Church Street, on charges of domestic disorderly conduct and simple assault on a person 60 or older after an acquaintance said he’d seen Daniels throw a 20 oz. Pepsi bottle at her 78-year-old live-in boyfriend. Although the man who was hit by the bottle told police that it hadn’t hurt, according to the report he was upset and at times tearful. Police tried to give the man pamphlets on domestic violence; he refused them.

Friday, Aug. 26

8:07 a.m. - Police arrested Dennis Raynor, 29, of Exchange Street after he turned himself in at the police station on an outstanding warrant issued by Middletown Police. Middletown Police came and picked up Raynor, who was wanted on a charge of passing bad checks under $1,000.

7:03 p.m. - Police cited a Queen Street man, 23, for driving without a license after the car he was driving was involved in a traffic accident on Division Street at Sanctuary Drive. His car was towed from the scene.

Saturday, Aug. 27

2:53 a.m. - Police cited a Swansea man, 31, for driving with a suspended Massachusetts license after he was stopped for speeding on First Avenue near Cliff Street. Police also cited hiim for speeding. His car was towed from the scene

Sunday, Aug. 28

1:59 p.m. - Police charge Kevin Bousquet, 20, of North Kingstown, with vandalism for driving his black Ford truck on the back baseball field at Cole Middle School and spinning his tires through the mud. Police saw Bousquet driving there while on routine patrol of the school. He was given both District and Municipal Court summons and told to report to the EG police station for processing before his court date.
