Fall Farmers Market, Football & More
Five things you need to know about East Greenwich today, Oct. 7
Goddard Park Farmers Market: The market will be at Goddard only a few more weeks (the last date is Oct. 28). Pull on a favorite sweater and head over for some late season produce (think butternut squash and hearty greens), or maybe some baked goods or seafood. We will be indoors for a LONG time … think about it! from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. off Ives Road.
Flames of Hope: It’s all pink all the time this weekend in Providence as “Flames of Hope: A Celebration of Life” takes place with activities Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This is the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation's largest event as well as the largest breast cancer awareness event in the Northeast. Today, there’s a “Passport to Survivorship” conference at the Providence Marriot from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Avenger Sports: East Greenwich Football plays Classical away tonight at Conley Stadium at 7 p.m. The Avengers go into the game with a 2-1 record. At home, the Boys JV Soccer team will play Prout at 4 p.m. at Carcieri Field.
Teen Center: Every Friday night, from 6 to 8 p.m., the Teen Center at Eldredge School is open for kids age 13 to 18. All are welcome.
Weather & tides: It should be mostly sunny today but cool - the predicted high is only 61 degrees. High tides will be at 5:12 a.m. and 5:45 p.m.; low tides will be at 11:33 a.m. and 11:43 p.m. Sunrise is at 6:48 a.m.; sunset is at 6:18 p.m.
