Five Things: Canoes, Motorcycles & More

'Homes For Our Troops' Motorcycle Ride: Texas Roadhouse hosts a motorcycle ride today to support Homes For Our Troops, which builds specially adapted homes for severely injured veterans at no cost to the veteran. The motorcycle ride starts and ends at Texas Roadhouse on Division Street at Route 2. Registration starts at 8 a.m.; ride leaves at 10 a.m. Tickets are $30/rider, $20/passenger and include a hearty, Texas-sized breakfast before the ride, a legendary Texas Roadhouse lunch after, and free t-shirt for the first 300 riders. Live entertainment, raffles, prizes & more!

Adopt-a-Pet Open House: The East Greenwich Animal Protection League holds an open house every Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Greenwich Bay Animal Hospital. Visit with the dogs and cats in need of permanent homes and see if one is right for you!

Waterfront Canoe Race: This is a benefit for Rhode Island Special Olympics sponsored by , Nautika, Blu on the Water, and Richard’s Pub. Register at Harbourside at 11 a.m. the day of the event. You must have a team of four rowers; canoes will be provided. Races start at 11:30 a.m. There will be five heats and prizes.
