Five Things: Dogs, Cats & Vintage Baseball

Your guide for life in East Greenwich today, June 24.

Adopt-a-Pet Open House: The EG Animal Protection League holds an open house most Sundays to give people a chance to visit the dogs and cats in need of permanent homes. The animals are housed at Greenwich Bay Animal Hospital. The open house runs from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you’d like to come at a different time, click on the EGAPL link above.

Vintage Baseball: The Providence Grays play The Atlantics of Brooklyn at Ardoene Field, Narragansett Avenue and Santiago Street at 11 a.m. You know the Grays were 1884? – catch a piece of history.

Smith’s Castle: This local jewel is located just down Post Road in North Kingstown and open today and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. for house tours and views of the grounds and gardens. It’s a great family activity.

Narragansett Art Festival: 113 exhibitors will be at Veterans' Memorial Park, 35 Ocean Road, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
