Voter registration ends today: If you haven't registered and want to vote on Nov. 6, now is the time ... the LAST time in fact to register abou the next today weeks. You can register from 1 to 4 p.m. today at the Community Room at the Police Department.
Local Gloria Gemma 5K runners: Our own Town Clerk Leigh Botello is running in the Gloria Gemma 5K this morning for the third year in a row, in honor of her friend Christine Tipple Sloan, who died from breast cancer at age 39. EG Food Cupboard needs donations: People are hungry all year round, Chris and Steve Bartlett of the Food Cupboard remind us. Items especially needed are jars of jelly, baked beans, canned fruit, tuna, peanut butter, and cereals. The food cupboard is housed at St. Luke’s Church. You can leave food there during normal business hours.
Adopt-A-Pet Open House: Animals are available for viewing and adoption with the assistance of a dedicated East Greenwich Animal Protection League member. The open house takes place today at Greenwich Bay Animal Hospital from 10:30 to 1 p.m. Individual appointments are also available.
Grief Support: This group meets in the Christ Church office condo on Sunday afternoons and is for anyone who has suffered the loss of a loved one. Each week there is a video which covers different topics pertinent to those who are grieving. Following the video there is time to discuss the contents with others in the group. Sundays from 2 to 4 p.m. It is a safe and welcoming environment. For more information, contact the church at 884-8632.
