Five Things: Restaurant Week Continues!
Your guide for life in East Greenwich today, Sept. 18.
School Committee meeting: On the agenda is appointment of a new assistant principal at Cole Middle School (to replace Vin Verrecchione, who left to be athletic director for Cranston), and appointment of a temporary director of student services (following reinstatement of that position with the departure of asst. superintendent Paula Dillon, who took a job in Barrington). In addition, there will be reports from the Building Committee and Fields Committee chairs. The meeting takes place in the library at Cole Middle School at begins at 7 p.m. (The full agenda is attached, right.)
Land Trust meeting: The agenda includes discussion of repairs at Boesch Farm as well as plans for significant renovations there and the funding needed for those. The meeting will take place at Town Hall at 7 p.m. (The full agenda is attached, right.)
Avenger home games: Cross Country Meet at Goddard Park versus Johnston and Toll Gate at 3 p.m.; Girls Field Hockey versus Tiverton, Varsity at 5 p.m. and J.V. at 6 at Carcieri Field. (The X-country meet was incorrectly listed as taking place yesterday in yesterday's Five Things – I apologize for the mistake. / EM). Because of a heightened threat of West Nile Virus and EEE, game times are moving earlier to cut down on mosquito exposure.
EG Restaurant Week: More than 30 restaurants are taking part in EG’s first-ever Restaurant Week through Sept. 22. For a list of all the participants and other information, click here.
