Your best/worst/funniest Christmas present: My favorite? The world’s warmest socks ever. How about you? Let us know in the comments section.

And ...

You asked, Patch answers: Do you have any questions about things in town – a vacant store, a broken sidewalk, a trash collection time? If you do, send 'em my way please! Put “you asked” in the subject line.

Vote for Stanley! Our own Stanley Marion’s fantastic Christmas lights display at his mother’s house on Wanton Shippee is up for the grand prize in Patch’s Deck the House Contest. The winner earns $100,000 for the town’s school district. That could be East Greenwich. To vote, click here. You can vote once every 24 hours – please do!

SO...now that Christmas is over, maybe the town can finish picking up all the leaf bags from the leftover curbs around town, that have been sitting on the streets for WEEKS?

That would be great..MANY of us couldnt pick up yard debris until late November/early December as all leaves hadnt fallen, then it was raining ...Town used to pick up bags with weekly trash, but that seems to have stopped (My bags have been personally been at the curb for 3 weeks).. Maybe, when the bags soon start geting in the way of town snow plows they will pick them up...HUMMM

We do have a town transfer station that this open on Saturdays where you can take those unsightly leaf bags. Really, lazYness! Not always the towns job to pick up and take your leaves away... put them in your trunk and take them to the transfer station on Saturday.. Your neighbors will appreciate it!

Actually, it IS the town's job to pick up our leaves - hence a yard waste pickup schedule and a tax bill in our mailboxes...

First winter here in EG, does the town provide free sand at the transfer station or anything similar?
