Odeum Grand Re-Opening Fundraiser Takes Place Saturday
This "soft opening" will feature live music, food, drink, and loads of silent auction items.

It's almost here: The Greenwich Odeum is slated to re-open Saturday for a "soft opening" fundraiser with live music and a silent auction.
The Main Street theater is still waiting for a certificate of occupancy, but Fire Marshal Steve Hughes said Thursday he didn't "foresee a problem with them opening Saturday."
UPDATE: The Fire Marshal issued a temporary certificate of occupancy to the Odeum Friday morning for the Saturday event.
According to Hughes, who said he only learned the Odeum wanted to open Saturday because he read it on the theater's marque driving to work last Monday, "They've been making steady progress. Most of the problems are minor."
Town Manager Bill Sequino, a member of the Odeum's board, said if for some reason they do not get a certificate of occupancy for Saturday, the event would be shifted to the Varnum Armory across the street.
On Thursday, professional cleaners were preparing the theater for its Saturday close up. By the time of the Main Street Stroll, the doors were open, lights were on, and you could tell ... it was (almost) "showtime."
