Adopt-a-Pet Open House: Animals are available for viewing every Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. through the EG Animal Protection League at Greenwich Bay Animal Hospital. Individual appointments are also available.
Nice day for a plunge: Special Olympics Rhode Island holds its annual Torch Run Plunge today at noon right here at the beach at Goddard Park! Registration begins at 10 a.m. The tug-o-war and other games on the beach begin at 11:15 with the plunge taking place at noon. The Post Plunge Party starts at 12:30, with food, drinks and music. Take the plunge or just come to support the plungers and Special Olympics.
Academic Decathlon: The East Greenwich High School decathlon team is competing against other high school teams from around the state at nearby CCRI in Warwick. Go Avengers!
