All these food recalls are frightening; do we not have inspectors anymore to be sure the food is "safe" Before it gets to market? Shopping is getting to be as dangerous as playing in traffic.

Our food is extremely safe and regulations are tighter now than anytime before. That's why we're seeing more and more recalls and partly the reason for higher prices at the grocery store. By trying to eliminate all all exposure to these organisms is doing more harm than good. The human body is designed to build up immunities over time. If the body is not given the chance to build those immunities, it reacts negatively when it comes in contact with the foreign substance.
