RIHS Football Poll – Week 3

RIHS Football Media Poll – East Greenwich moves up five spots, after its win last Saturday over Tiverton.

 


La Salle remains at No. 1 in the latest Rhode Island High School Football Media Poll, after taking care of Tolman, 42-20.

The three teams after La Salle – Hendricken, Cranston East and Portsmouth – also remain the same. Westerly and Johnston moved up to No. 5 and No. 6, respectively, after Barrington lost 41-18 to East.

East Greenwich improves to 15, up from 20, after its second league win, this time over Tiverton, 28-6.

The Rhode Island Sports Media football poll is voted on by 13 local media members who regularly cover Rhode Island high school football. The poll is administrated and compiled by Eric Rueb of Southern Rhode Island Newspapers.

It wasn’t an especially tough week to vote for, given the loss by Barrington and most of the other teams holding serve.

The two last selections – Moses Brown and North Kingstown – were really more because of a lack of better options than anything else at this point. Both teams have losses, but also, at least one decent win, so it was either vote for them in the final two spots, or teams that had beat up on really poor programs instead.
