Sharing Locker, Hill-Top & More
Five things you need to know about East Greenwich today, March 17.
Sharing Locker: Non-food pantry to assist people in meeting their basic needs for living, to increase their quality of life, and to fill the gap for those who are struggling. Provisions offered include: all-purpose cleaners, dish detergent, hand soap, laundry detergent, SOS pads, deodorant, body lotion, razors, facial tissue, paper towels, toilet paper, and dry pet food for dogs and cats. Located in the Westminster Unitarian Church House from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Story Hour: Every week the folks at Symposium Books pick a new story and read it to the kids with animal crackers and fun. Come early and help pick the story, and better yet, there is a 10 percent additional discount on everything in the store during story hour! It starts at 11:30 a.m.
Hill-Top opens: Today is the day we’ve all been waiting for — ice cream at Hill-Top Creamery returns, a sure sign of spring. It happens at noon.
Dinner with Sen. Whitehouse: One of the great benefits of living in a small state has to be the proximity each and every one of us has to our elected officials. Sheldon Whitehouse is hosting a pasta-and-meatball dinner at Cole Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. Everyone’s welcome. To make a reservation or get more information, call 453-5294, or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or click here.
Amelia Earhart at the Library: The Friends of East Greenwich Free Library announced that aviation's sweetheart Amelia Earhart, long thought lost somewhere in the Pacific, will be touching down at the library this Thursday at 7 p.m. The program will be followed by a dessert reception.
