Rainbow Over The Cove - Anytime it rains near dusk, I try to keep an eye out for rainbows. This storm came along just at the right time and, unlike any others that I've seen, this one appeared to descend directly into the cove. There also was a secondary and a tertiary arc, but I could only fit so much in the frame that I had to splice two halves together. As it turned out, the rest of our news team were also out snapping away at the scene and we were able to splice together a variety of perspectives for the photo layout. Jeff Stevens

The flood of March, 2010 turned Post Road into a pond, which seemed to swallow this car.
Rings On The Cove - The cove changes its nature hour-by-hour and day-by-day. That is what makes it so enthralling. On this morning after a light snow, I found that the winter moorings that stick through the ice had allowed water to surge up and around them to form these regular circles. The challenge was how to balance the brightening sky, with the dark trees and the ice somewhere in the middle. I managed, somehow, but give credit for luck versus skill.

This story was about a summertime drought, even if this picture was not. In any case, there can be no more iconic image of summer in East Greenwich than the diving board at the Greenwich Club.
Crestar Cruise Night - There is fellowship and friendly competition amongst Photographers. We often share ideas and information but, on occasion, I do try to get a different perspective to distinguish our site from any others. At Crestar Cruise Night, you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting a picture of a beautiful car but I was looking for something else. I noticed that Crestar's roof was flat and not too high off of the ground so I asked Jason Dittleman for a ladder and I was able to get a bird's eye view of the cars and a peek at the Greene St. development during construction.

Pictures are like children. You can't wait to see them come out, they are beautiful when they do, and you can't play favorites with any one of them. That said, we actually don't have a 10 Best Pictures of 2010. Instead, we went through the archives and picked out some of our favorite images of the year.
