Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

What to do with the kids during school vacation week?

A weekly community conversation about parenting issues in East Greenwich.

If you have kids and you don't go away over February vacation, it can be the longest week of the year. How do you keep your children active and engaged (rather than climbing the walls or glued to the TV) over the vacation week?

About this column: Moms Talk is a new feature on East Greenwich Patch that is part of a new initiative to reach out to moms and families. East Greenwich Patch invites you and your circle of friends to help build a community of support for mothers and their families right here in East Greenwich.

Check out Biomes Marine Center on Shady Lea Lane in North Kingstown. Open weekdays during vacation week - 12:00-5:00. Remarkable collection of New England marine life, and the animals love to perform for visitors. Ever seen an octopus open a jar to get it's meal? Ever wanted to pet a shark and see what that feels like? Have you ever seen a real sea horse or a poisonous Lionfish? Meet Darwin the tortoise. Biomes was crazy busy today, and I can understand why. The staff are phenomenal. Only $7.50 per person.
