Arlette Cornwall kind of fell into the consignment clothes business, but you wouldn't know it visiting her new shop on Main Street, Worth Repeating. It's well organized and has a real flare.

Cornwall's been in real estate for years. But she's also been a devotee of consignment stores, mainly because every piece in a consignment shop is one of a kind. As she said, "If I buy it at Macy's, someone else is buying one just like it."

She ended up buying the consignment business Never Enough located was at Greenwich Village after striking up a conversation with the owner, who eventually persuaded her to buy it about a year ago.

She moved it to Main Street to improve foot traffic to the shop, which is located at 111 Main Street (the former location of Bags by Iris, which is now situated – quite nicely – a few doors away at 93 Main St.), and changed the name too, to Worth Repeating.

"We are so much more accessible than our previous location," said Cornwall. "We really wanted to be a part of the Main Street community, part of the pulse and that energy."

It's been a lot of work, running a shop, but "it's fabulous," she said. She said while her shop carries quality clothing, it's not all designer goods.

"You can get your classic Anne Klien blouse here but you're also able to find grommeted trousers," Cornwall said when EG Patch visited the shop, – she held up said trousers to illustrate. "My love is vintage and retro."

For Cornwall, the shop is more than just a retail destination.

"Without a doubt, our mission is to make it affordable for ladies to be able to dress well. That's the first and foremost reason we're here," she said.
