EG Historic Preservation Society meeting: EGHPS members will hear the memories of Betsey Carpenter Thomson at tonight’s monthly meeting, as she describes what life used to be like in the Frenchtown and Shippetown neighborhoods. A lifelong resident of East Greenwich, Ms. Thomson still lives in the house on Division Street where she was born and raised. She is a Master Gardener who remembers that there were few trees in that part of town – the area was home to many dairy farms.
