The Greenwich Bay Brass will perform following the Saturday evening service December 22nd at 1st Evangelical Lutheran Church in East Greenwich.  They will be playing various seasonal pieces including ‘Brass Sing-a-Long’ selections with audience participation.

The Greenwich Bay Brass has been together in various forms since 2006.  It began as a quintet for a group already playing together in the New England Brass Band and has expanded to ten members.  It is a British Style Bass Ensemble with its unique instrumentation.

They have performed at 1st Lutheran previously, including a summer concert that featured four generations from one family playing together.

Recently, the Greenwich Bay Brass supported the Salvation Army by playing around the kettle at the Eastside Marketplace in Providence.  The response was wonderful with many remarking that the music helped set the season for them.

We hope you’ll join First Lutheran and the Greenwich Bay Brass in a celebration of the Season at 6 PM on Saturday Dec 22, 2012

First Evangelical Lutheran Church is a tight-knit community of believers that meets in a historic church building on the Hill. The church welcomes those who are new to the Lutheran Church, as well as those who have grown up in the Lutheran faith tradition.

The church emphasizes the importance of both the word of God and the sacraments.

First Evangelical Lutheran was founded by Swedish immigrants who met and worshipped for several years before receiving a pastor to guide them. The area where the church sits was known as Swede Hill because so many Swedish immigrants lived there.

Pastor Linda is known for her warm smile and welcoming ways. The church features an active youth group, beautiful music and a Saturday evening worship service.
