Green Industries, on Rocky Hollow Road, has been meeting the shipping and packaging needs of industrial manufacturers since its inception in 1956. After beginning its operations in Pawtucket, founder Robert Allen Greene moved his family business to East Greenwich in 1963, taking advantage of the nearby railroad station. While the industry has declined somewhat as the large companies Greene primarily supplies have left the area, the company continues to manufacture everything companies need to ship freight.

Products include: wooden boxes; wholesale, industrial packaging materials; conductive boxes; rigid, set-up boxes; die-cut, corrugated shipping cartons; molded boxes; and wood pallets, including those for overseas shipping that require special heat and insect treatment to meet customs standards in foreign countries. Greene Industries also supplies local companies and artists with packing peanuts and bubble wrap to help safely ship fragile items.
