NO RECYCLE PICKUPS this week. No yard waste either. Both will be collected next week. Recycles are picked up every other week. Yard waste pickup varies depending on the month. Starting Nov. 4, yard waste is picked up weekly for the month.

Avenger Playoff Action: The Girls Field Hockey team meets Moses Brown in the semi-finals today at Cranston Stadium at 5 p.m. For all the EGHS Avenger action, check out the Booster Club’s website here. Halloween Zumba Party: The newly open Shotokan Karate & Kickbox studio next to CVS at 57 Main Street is hosting a Halloween Zumba Party. Activities will include kids songs, games, giveaways, refreshments, and a costume contest. $10 a person or family rates available. Call for info or to reserve your spot 401-391-2713.

ONEsdays with The Lost Arts: Local band The Lost Arts is playing Wednesday nights at the Greenwich Hotel, playing great music and bringing awareness to the One Campaign to eliminate extreme poverty and preventable disease. Pumpkin Spooktacular: The Seasons East Greenwich assisted-living community holds a Pumpkin Spooktacular for its residents. If you have a carved pumpkin to share, drop it by before noon.

Movie Night at the Odeum! “Casablanca” will be shown Friday night. This classic from 1942 not only has great actors – Bogey, Bergman – but also so many memorable lines. Tickets are $5 and the concession stand will be open. TWO showings: 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. You can buy tickets ahead of time at the Odeum’s website here.
