Chromebook Vote At Tonight's School Committee Meeting

School Committee meeting: After last week's meeting was cancelled due to weather, the panel will vote on the “1:1” proposal – providing each student in grades 6-12 with a Chromebook computer device, for the 2014-15 school year. The full agenda is here. In the library at Cole Middle School. 7 p.m.

Zoning Board meeting: The panel will discuss to residential applications. You’ll find the agenda here. Council Chambers at Town Hall. 7 p.m.

Bereaved Parents USA meeting: Bereaved Parents USA/RI Chapter meets the fourth Tuesday of the month and is a free statewide support group for parents who have lost a young or adult child at any age from any cause, and who want to share with others who have had a similar devastating experience. Grandparents and siblings are also welcome to attend.  The meeting includes sharing, discussion of relevant grief topics, a lending library of books on topics related to grief, speakers, and other helpful free resources. Trivia Night Benefit for NK Food Pantry: Bravo Pizza is holding a series of trivia nights to benefit the North Kingstown Food Pantry. Teams of 2 to 6 players can register to compete in any of trivia nights from Jan. 21 to Feb. 25. Call 398-2500 or register your team on Bravo’s Facebook page. Gift Certificate Prizes to Bravo and Area Merchants will be awarded to the top 2 teams. Teams are asked to bring items for the NK Food Pantry when they come for Trivia Night. Items most in need now are: personal hygiene items such as toilet paper, dish washing soap, laundry soap, toothpaste, soaps and shaving creams, and shampoos.

On Thursday …

“Footloose” @ EGHS: East Greenwich Drama Department presents Footloose. The show runs Thursday through Saturday. Show times are Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 1 and 7 p.m. The show will be held in the high school auditorium. Tickets are $10 per person and are available at the door. Come and see over 80 students take part in this production.
