Declutter Your Life: Downsizing your stuff is a process, not an event. Feel like you’re drowning in stuff? Wonder why you acquire and save more possessions than you need? Ever feel like your stuff is starting to own you?  The Friends of the East Greenwich Free Library are hosting the upbeat educator and entertainer Dave Downs, who will explore the 8 BIG REASONS our drawers, closets and garages get stuffed with stuff. Downs offers helpful hints and tools for dealing with our stuff. Light refreshments will be served. Please join us and support your library. Schools Technology Advisory Committee meeting: They will be reviewing the 1:1 tablet-to-student implementation strategy. In the Superintendent’s Conference Room at the school department. 7:30 a.m.

Blood Drive: The town is holding a blood drive at Swift Communmity from 1 to 5 p.m. You can make an appointment (though it’s not required) here.

2014 Wickford Art Association Invitational Show: The EG Art Club is having a show and sale in Wickford from Jan. 10 to Feb. 2. It’s called “2014 Wickford Art Association Invitational Show” and will be held at the Wickford Art Association, 36 Beach St., N.K.

Christmas Tree curbside collection: The town will collect your tree and recycle it, but not until the weeks of Jan. 6-10 and Jan. 13-17. Just make sure your tree is bare – no ornaments, tinsel, metal or wires – and NOT in a plastic bag. If you’ve used a bag to get your tree out of your house neatly, just make sure to pull it off. Any questions, please call the Department of Public Works at 886-8620/886-8621
