Five Things: Goodbye Ardys, Adoption RI Fundraiser

Motorcycles in EG this morning: If you happen to be near St. Luke’s Church midday today, don’t be surprised by the number of motorcycles. The funeral for legendary motorcycle enthusiast Ardys Campbell Kellerman, 81, takes place there at 11 a.m. Kellerman was the grandmother of EG resident Scott Clement. She was from Rumford, but had lived in Texas for many years.

Adoption R.I. Fundraiser at Finn’s Harbourside: Adoption Rhode Island's annual Summer Camp Fundraiser takes place Wednesday, July 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Finn's Harborside (fka Harbourside Lobstermania). Treat yourself to an evening on the waterfront with of music, a buffet dinner, and more – all while helping children in Rhode Island state care enjoy a week at summer camp. Tickets are $20 and available at Adoption RI or Finn's Harborside. For more info, call Adoption RI at 401-865-6000.

Municipal Court: The court is in session from 6 to 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at Town Hall.

Preconcert dinner at St. Luke's: You can get dinner before the concert at Academy Field right across the parking lot at St. Luke’s Church. It’s free and all are welcome. Dinner is served from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

RI Rednecks at Academy: Come on down to Academy Field, located next to the Swift Community Center, for the Summer Concert Series sponsored by EG Parks & Rec. This week the R.I. Rednecks will have you stomping along to some classic Country music. All ages are welcome to attend. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. In case of rain the concert will be take place in the Swift Gym. The music goes from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

On Friday …

Rolie Polie Guacamole at EGHS: Come on down to the HS Auditorium for the weekly children's performance series sponosored by the EG Parks & Recreation Department.  Each week a different performer is featured. This final week Rolie Polie Guacamole will entertain with some fabulous songs. Parents must accompany their children and there is no admission fee or pre-registration required.
