Here's Looking At You, Kid – Casablanca Tonite At The Odeum

NO RECYCLE PICKUPS this week. No yard waste either. Both will be collected next week. Recycles are picked up every other week. Yard waste pickup varies depending on the month. Starting Nov. 4, yard waste is picked up weekly for the month.

Movie Night at the Odeum! “Casablanca” will be shown Friday night. This classic from 1942 not only has great actors – Bogey, Bergman – but also so many memorable lines. Tickets are $5 and the concession stand will be open. TWO showings: 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. You can buy tickets ahead of time at the Odeum’s website here.

Teen Center: The Teen Center has provided a great place to hang out on Friday evenings for decades now. They meet at the gym at Eldredge School but you don’t have to play basketball to enjoy the camaraderie. From 6 to 8 p.m.

Candy to Operation Gratitude: Donate your Halloween candy to any Children’s Workshop locations and receive a free children's book Nov. 1-8. All of the candy that we collect will be shipped to the troops serving overseas via Operation Gratitude. You must bring in at least 30 pieces of candy to swap for a book. Donations appreciated even if you don't want a book. Handwritten notes and artwork for the troops are appreciated. Visit www.childrensworkshop.com for more information. Donations for the troops are also being collected at the office of Drs. Kevin Hagerty and Allyce Sullivan, 61 Cedar Ave. Donors will get a gift bag in return. (And, yes, they are dentists!)
