LAST CHANCE! Christmas tree curbside collection & recyclables: This is the last week the town will collect your tree and recycle it. Just make sure your tree is bare – no ornaments, tinsel, metal or wires – and NOT in a plastic bag. If you’ve used a bag to get your tree out of your house neatly, just make sure to pull it off. Also, this is a recycle week – pull those big blue toters to the curb. For more information, check out the town’s DPW website here.

Meadowbrook Farms Preschool seeks peer models: The East Greenwich Public Preschool is looking for community peers for our integrated preschool classrooms. Open house will be on Monday, Feb. 3, from 10 to 11 a.m.

Feb. Break rec program signup: The East Greenwich Parks and Recreation Department is offering four days of trips and activities for area children, in grades 1-6, during the February vacation break. Children may sign up for a whole day of activities or simply a trip or a project. Registrations will begin on Monday, Jan. 27. To get a preapproved online account, submit an online account request form to the office prior to the sign up date. For paper registrations, get your form to the office prior to Jan. 27 – the office will begin enrolling forms lottery style on that date. Your best chance of getting your selection is via the online process as classes will fill on a first come basis and the office can only process paper forms one at a time. Camperships and reduced fees are available for those on public assistance. Flyers and registration forms are available at the office, the Town Hall, or at www.eastgreenwichri.com.

EG Little League registration is open: Spring is on its way! It’s that time of year again, and Little League baseball, softball and tee ball registration is open. Registration is open to all boys and girls from 4 years old and up.  Simply go to www.egllri.com to begin your registration. Questions? Email John M. Sullivan (Jsully2698@cox.net).
