Legalize Pot? Pros And Cons Tonight

Trash pickup delayed a day this week: Because of the Columbus Day holiday, there’s no trash pickup today and it’s delayed a day for the rest of the week.

NO recycle pickup this week: Just a reminder – we are on an every-other-week pickup schedule for recyclables and this is the “other” week, so just trash goes to the curb this week.

EG High School PTG meeting: All parents and guardians of high school students are invited to the PTG meeting Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the cafeteria.

Marijuana forum: A community discussion about the role of marijuana in society and how best to reduce harm and protect young people. A pizza dinner will be served at 5:30, with the discussion starting after. At Swift Community Center. Panelists include: Peter Asen of the Providence Mayor's Substance Abuse Prevention Council; Rebecca McGoldrick of Protect Families First; Don Anderson of the Rhode Island Council of Churches; Michael C. Screening of “Pink Ribbon Inc.”: Are pink ribbons really about the cure, or about corporate profits? That’s the question asked by the documentary “Pink Ribbons Inc.,” which will be shown at The Hive in the Lafayette Mills, 640 Ten Rod Road, NK, on Wednesday at 6 p.m. There will be refreshments and conversation. Estate planning for people w/disabilities: Sargent Rehabilitation Center, partnering with Roger Williams University School of Law Pro Bono Collaborative presents this legal presentation conducted by the law firm of Edwards Palmer LLP. Planning Board meeting: On the agenda is review of a combined preliminary and final plan application for the expansion of Sweet Peas Village preschool and daycare center. The proposed addition – at 836 Middle Road – consists of a two-story building with 2,880 square feet of gross floor area. At 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at Town Hall.
