Movie Night At The Odeum – '2001: A Space Odyssey'

Trash pickup delayed this week & NO recycle pickup: Because of the Veterans Day holiday, trash pickup is delayed one day for the rest of the week. This is an OFF week for recycles pickup. Yard waste, however, is being picked up every week this month. For more information, you can check out the Dept. of Public Works’ website here.

‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ @ The Odeum: The Odeum Movie Night continues tonight at 7:30 with "2001: A Space Odyssey" – a rare opportunity to view this spectacular the way it's meant to be viewed – on The Big Screen! Sci-fi filmmaking was never the same after "2001." Leading directors, including Martin Scorsese, James Cameron, Woody Allen, Terry Gilliam, and the Coen brothers have cited Stanley Kubrick as a source of inspiration. Teen Center: The Teen Center has provided a great place to hang out on Friday evenings for decades now. They meet at the gym at Eldredge School but you don’t have to play basketball to enjoy the camaraderie. From 6 to 8 p.m.

Rocky Hill School–Trinity Rep Collaboration: The first performance of the partnership between Rocky Hill School and Trinity Repertory Company takes place tonight at 7 p.m. in the school's Campbell Center. Tickets are $5 at the door. Rocky Hill School's Deckhands Theatre Company opens up the 2013-14 season opens with "Growing Up: A Dramatic Experience," a variety show featuring Middle and Upper School drama students.Trinity Repertory Company's education staff has been visiting the school Wednesday and Friday afternoons to help produce this fall variety show.

EG Food Cupboard needs donations: People are hungry all year round, Chris and Steve Bartlett of the Food Cupboard remind us. Items especially needed are jars of jelly, baked beans, canned fruit, tuna, peanut butter, and cereals. The food cupboard is housed at St. Luke’s Church. You can leave food there during normal business hours.
