Rec February Break Signs-Ups Under Way

On Thursday …

“Footloose” @ EGHS: East Greenwich Drama Department presents Footloose. The show runs Thursday through Saturday. Show times are Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 1 and 7 p.m. The show will be held in the high school auditorium. Tickets are $10 per person and are available at the door. Come and see over 80 students take part in this production.

School Committee meeting: The panel will hear elementary and secondary budget information and hold a strategic planning workshop. In the library at Cole Middle School. 6:30 p.m.

Poetry Night: The Association of Rhode Island Authors (ARIA) announces that The Elephant Room at 2170 Broad Street in Cranston's Pawtuxet Village will host the association's inaugural "Poetry Night.” 6:30 p.m.

Feb. Break rec program signup: The East Greenwich Parks and Recreation Department is offering four days of trips and activities for area children, in grades 1-6, during the February vacation break. Children may sign up for a whole day of activities or simply a trip or a project. Registrations will begin on Monday, Jan. 27. To get a preapproved online account, submit an online account request form to the office prior to the sign up date. For paper registrations, get your form to the office prior to Jan. 27 – the office will begin enrolling forms lottery style on that date. Your best chance of getting your selection is via the online process as classes will fill on a first come basis and the office can only process paper forms one at a time. Camperships and reduced fees are available for those on public assistance. Flyers and registration forms are available at the office, the Town Hall, or at www.eastgreenwichri.com.
