The Wizard, And Judy

Your guide for life in East Greenwich today, Oct. 10.

Recycles get picked up this week: Just a reminder – we are on an every-other-week pickup schedule for recyclables now. This week we need to put both trash AND recycle containers curbside.

'The Wizard of Oz' at EG Free Library: The wonderful 1939 film version of "The Wizard of Oz" will be shown (free!) at the library this afternoon starting at 4.

Calling Hours for Judy Bailey: Calling hours are Thursday, Oct. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home. Losing one community icon is hard. Losing two in less than a week seems unfair. This past week, East Greenwich lost longtime EGHS teacher Roger Allard and then former Town Councilor Judy Bailey. The only silver lining is, in writing remembrance articles about each of them, I’ve seen the best of East Greenwich come out. Thanks to all who responded to my calls for comments.
