150th Anniversary of Gettysburg Address: The Gettysburg Address is a speech by U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, one of the best-known in American history. It was delivered by Lincoln during the American Civil War, on the afternoon of Thursday, November 19, 1863, at the dedication of the Soldiers' National Cemetery in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, four and a half months after the Union armies defeated those of the Confederacy at the Battle of Gettysburg. Cindy-Wood Garden Club meeting: An Ikebana workshop led by Eileen DiChiara will be the program at the monthly meeting of Tuesday’s Cindy-Wood Garden Club. Ikebana is a Japanese style of flower arranging that emphasizes graceful lines, natural shapes and few flowers. The program will be held in the meeting room of the East Greenwich Police Station on First Avenue. 9:30 a.m. Call Marnie Sandham at 886-9266 or Joni Plunkett at 885-2868 for more information.

School Committee meeting: The agenda includes approvals of policies on criminal checks and confidentiality, as well as recognitions and approvals of winter sports coaches. In the library at Cole Middle School at 7 p.m.

Learning & the Brain In Early Children Ed: Early childhood education expert Paula Carreiro will speak about a child’s brain and the importance of educational practices which promote its development. At Rocky Hill School at 9 a.m.

Universal Children’s Night at Cole: The Cole Community has been working all fall to bring you an amazing array of international learning opportunities, some serious, some fun, all remarkable. There will be food, music, games, art and lots of Cole Middle School positive energy. From 5 to 8 p.m. Adults $10, children $5.
