What Is A Structure? Planning Board To Discuss

Planning Board meeting: The panel will discuss the basic definitions of a "structure" and a "no-cut buffer," springing from recent issues that have come before it. In addition, they will discuss a draft wind ordinance. Here’s the agenda. At 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at Town Hall.

EGHS PTG meeting: Parents and guardians of EG High School students are invited to attend the first PTG meeting of the year, at 9:30 a.m. in the school’s cafeteria.

Catch a Thief … at EG Free Library: Art theft is one of the most profitable criminal enterprises in the world, exceeding $6 billion in losses to galleries and art collectors annually. And the masterpieces of Rembrandt van Rijn are some of the most frequently targeted. Anthony Amore, director of security at Boston’s Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, reveals the actors behind the major Rembrandt heists in the last century. At the EG Free Library at 6:30 p.m.

Drive 4 Pledges Day: Following the tremendous success of last year’s “Texting & Driving…It Can Wait” campaign, Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin, the Rhode Island Department of Transportation, the Rhode Island State Police and AT&T are again bringing attention to the dangers of texting and driving with a high school awareness tour on “Drive 4 Pledges Day.”

Savor East Greenwich – Restaurant Week kickoff: The East Greenwich Yacht Club is the place of the official kickoff party for this year's EG Restaurant Week. The event is a fundraiser for the EG Animal Protection League and you'll get a chance to sample foods from a few of the restaurants taking part in the 10-day-long Restaurant Week (which begins Friday). From 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. $25. You can learn more here.

National Talk Like A Pirate Day: Shiver me timbers – aye me mateys, we are all invited to unleash our inner pirate on Thursday! Here’s the official NTLAPD website. Barnes & Noble in Warwick is celebrating with a storytime at 10:30 a.m. and a treasure hunt at 5:30 p.m.
