BANKNEWPORT NAMED HEALTHY EMPLOYER

Representatives from BankNewport’s human resources department accepted an award on behalf of the organization at the 2013 Healthiest Employers Awards Luncheon on August 15 at the Providence Marriott, presented by Providence Business News and Tufts Health Plan.  The program recognized employers who have effective health and wellness programs in place and a commitment to employee health and safety.

Judging was conducted by Healthiest Employers, a privately held technology and data research company with a focus on wellness.  Data from companies entered in the 2013 Healthiest Employers program was measured alongside similar programs across the country and ranked, with 26 organizations of varying size being awarded for operating effective health and wellness programs for their workers.  BankNewport ranked fifth for organizations in the 150 to 499 employee category awarded this distinction.

“Wellness is so critical to everything,” stated BankNewport Senior Vice President and Director of Human Resources, Wendy Kagan.  “A healthier workforce is a happier, more productive workforce.”
