Ocean State Soccer's U13 Girls Select team, the Wildcats, were champions again during the weekend of March 22nd-23rd, winning the prestigious NEFC Preseason Tournament outside of Boston. NEFC is ranked as the top 26th Premier Tournaments for Girls in the country! The girls took the championship by defeating the Massachusetts Premier Soccer (MPS) Renegades Elite 2-1, climaxed by a thrilling penalty kick shootout. For the team, which plays in the Massachusetts Premier Soccer League (MAPLE), this is the second Premier Tournament championship in less than a month and third Premier Championship in the past year. Coached by Jeff Boldt, with Greg Pilgrim as Assistant Coach, the team, which includes 6th and 7th grade players from North Kingstown, as well as East Greenwich, Exeter and Warwick, won the 2014 Scorpion Bowl in early March and last year, won the 2013 Global Premier Soccer Fathers’ Day Tournament.
