January 29 Charter Public School Fair to Give R.I. Families Opportunity to Learn About 20 School Options

Charter Public School Fair, will be held during National School Choice Week, designed to help families understand charter public school options before March 3, 2014 lotteries

The Rhode Island League of Charter Schools is hosting a Rhode Island Charter Public School Fair for families interested in learning more about their charter public school options. Representatives from the League’s 17 member schools, in addition to three new schools that have been preliminarily approved by the R.I. Department of Education, will be available to speak with families and accept applications on-site for the next school year. The upcoming March 3, 2014 blind lotteries will determine which students are selected to fill each school’s open slots for the 2014-2015 school year.

The Charter Public School Fair is taking place during National School Choice Week, a nationally recognized week of independent events that shines a spotlight on effective education options for children. The R.I. League of Charter Schools celebrates the valuable learning opportunities charter public schools provide for many students, and recognizes that the decision of whether a traditional or charter public school is best for a child is a choice left up to each family.
