Ocean State Soccer u12 Girls win Rhode Island Youth Soccer Cup Championship

Ocean State Soccer’s girls’ teams captured the top slot in the Soccer Rhode Island tournament (RI Cup) Classic Blue division held in Smithfield, June 21st-22nd.  The U12 team, coached by Craig Cook (R) and Bill Schultz (L), includes 5th and 6th grade girls from North Kingstown and East Greenwich.  The team’s path to victory covered all of the spring season’s games played against other teams from across Rhode Island, before reaching the finals.  The championship match against Westerly went down to wire with the OSS team prevailing in penalty kicks 3-0 after both regulation and overtime ended in a 1-1 tie.  The team ended the spring season with a 10-1 total record.
