Your guide for life in East Greenwich today, Aug. 16.

Kentish Guard’s Annual Inspection: The Kentish Guard will be conducting its Annual Inspection on Academy Field (where the guard first drilled in 1774), starting about 6:10 pm. The brief but colorful ceremony is an old military ritual wherein the troops are inspected and the authority of the inspector is acknowledged. The inspector, in this case, is Major General Kevin McBride, the Adjutant General of Rhode Island.

Land Trust meeting: They meet in Conference Room A at Town Hall at 7 p.m. and you can find out more by checking out the agenda here.
