Who Should be the Turkey Trot Beneficiary This Year?

Main Street Association of East Greenwich seeks applications for this year's beneficiary.

The Main Street Association of East Greenwich is looking for the next beneficiary of the East Greenwich Hill and Harbour Turkey Trot.

Applications are due by April 30 and the beneficiary will get a portion of the proceeds generated from the November race.

It will be the fourth running of the Hill and Harbour Turkey Trot.

"The race has been a huge success and has brought over 1000 people to East Greenwich the Saturday after thanksgiving," said Michelle Clark, board member of the Main Street Association.  "We are proud to be able to change the beneficiary each year so that we touch as many local organizations as possible with a generous donation."

The fully sanctioned and certified 5K race will be held in East Greenwich and on November 29, 2014.  The course highlights much of the beauty of East Greenwich, which includes Main Street, the waterfront and the hill district.  In addition to the 5K race the festivities include a 1 Mile Fun Run, crafts, and music which will allow the entire community to get involved.

Clark said “we are so happy to be able to continue this fantastic event and feel so excited by the fact that it has been embraced so warmly by our community members and local business owners as it kicks off Small Business Saturday in town.”
