Five Things: Outdoor Concert, Boesch Farm Walk

‘Netwalking’ at Boesch Farm: Meet at Boesch Farm on South Road by the trail map in the parking lot for ten minutes of story time before we set out on the trail. Come hear some true stories about heroic bees. We will study bees, their intelligence, the challenges they face, and how they provide us with all kinds of healthy food.  Sponsored by Biomes. Ages 2-99. From 10 a.m. to noon.

Special Dominican coffee at Felicia’s: At 9:30 this morning, representatives from Café La Cotorra will be at Felicia’s Coffee offering samples of their organic, shade-grown Vienna roast coffee. The beans are grown in on a farm in the Dominican Republic owned by the family of Juan Francisco and his wife Debbie, who are pastors of a church in Providence.

Live Music on Academy Field: One of the best parts of summer in EG are the free Thursday evening concerts at Academy Field, located next to the Swift Community Center, for the Summer Concert Series sponsored by the EG Parks & Recreation Department. Each week a different performer is featured. This week Big Cat Blues will have the group grooving to some blues and roots. All ages are welcome to attend. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. In case of rain the concert will be take place in the Swift Gym. There is no admission fee or pre-registration required. Leave pets at home. (There is no performance next week.) From 6:30 to 8 p.m.

On Friday …

Children’s performance: Come on down to the EGHS auditorium for the weekly children's performance series sponsored by the EG Parks & Recreation Department. Each week a different performer is featured. This week is singer/storyteller Jay Mankita. Parents must accompany their child and there is no admission fee or pre-registration required. (There is no performance next week, July 5.) From 1:30 to 2:15 p.m.
