Readers got fired up about sandwiches in East Greenwich — a total of 217 votes were cast in the Readers’ Choice poll between Monday and Friday. Of those, the clear favorite was , which got 40 percent, or 88 votes.

on South County Trail placed second, with 26 percent, or 56 votes. And came in third, with 9 percent, or 20 votes. A — that’s good news for East Greenwich sandwich lovers.

As for what makes Wild Harvest stand out, their oven-roasted meat sandwiches seem to be a big favorite.

“Wild Harvest has homemade roasted turkey and roast beef! Winner in my book,” commented reader Charles Hopkins.

“I would have to say that our most popular sandwich is our own oven roasted turkey. It's an all-natural breast with no preservatives and I roast them fresh almost every day,” said Wild Harvest owner Erica Maddalena. “We offer at least 10 different sandwiches and we run specials daily. Some of our specials include our own organic veggie burger, grilled chicken and falafel.”

It’s not just what’s in the sandwich that makes it great though, Maddalena said. “I think our sandwiches are so good because they are on our freshly made breads and served with our homemade chips. Many times, the breads are coming right out of the oven.”
