Readers' Choice: Best Florist in East Greenwich

What's your go-to flower place in town?

If a woman in your life says, "Don't bother buying me flowers," you're probably better off doing it anyway.

Why? Because flowers are an immediate pick-me-up. They're fresh, colorful and quite the pleasant surprise.

That said, you can't give just any flowers. Make it a bouquet, the bigger the better. If you’re unsure what type of flowers to get, roses are never wrong.

Luckily, there are dedicated local florists who can help you get it right.

This week, we want to know: Which florist in town is your favorite? Is it , , , ? Maybe another one.

Vote in our poll below, then share your thoughts in the comments section. If we left your favorite florist off the list, note that in the comments as well.

We'll leave the poll up all week then close voting at 9 a.m. Friday. At noon that day, we'll share your top local pick. Then be sure to watch the site over the weekend when we tally up the top votes and announce the florists that got the most rave reviews across all of our Rhode Island sites.

Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch.

Busy bee has the most fresh and long lasting flowers in town, I would never go any where else. I highly recommend to visit Giti's shop to see her creativity, talent, great customer service that always comes with her beautiful smile.

For a sophisticated and fresh look, Busy Bee is the place to go. Through the visions, efforts, and great dedication of the Busy Bee florists I truly believe that they have come to be leaders in the spheres of influence in this particular art. I have stuck with Busy Bee for many years and I am fond of their work. EACH and EVERY time I was given a set that was done above and beyond expectation. It is clear that this dedication can not be found anywhere else. These florists share a common goal to address one of the greatest needs for the young people of EG-share the excellence and beauty of flowers. Each time you walk into the shop the room is overflowing with creativity and life. Busy Bee's work is distinguished by their intellect in the artistic aspect, integrity, service, and vision. Giti's knowledge and hand have allowed for a strong environment to share the art of creating wonderful pieces to lighten up any and every event. A true master is at work at Busy Bee.

Bill L. If this is in fact your true name, we thank you for your business @BZB but sad that your expectation with CREATIVITY was not met...... but perhaps your knowledge about ART, Presentation, Flowers and certianly its translation is so limited that your distorted emotions taken the best of your judgement and attempts to make a case that is so irrevalent that it sounds very poor and stupid. BZB has served me well for many years for personal arrangements, wedding, funeral...etc... BZB serves the community as this is its mission, serves all types of needs as it is its goal, and sustains happy customer base as this is its life line..... and i am sure it would satisfy you if you were more objective about your comments,,,, give it another try and you will not be disappointed... Nevertheless we welcome Sprigs for its effort and wish it luck... but success is not the asset you have but the customer support you can sustain.... I am so pleased to see many utilize BZB as they truly like the total experience and not a one off interaction... it is a family ... BZB is loved in every way, and reacts every expectation as an opportunity to gain a friend. Thank you EG for your continued support..... by the way BZB serves its Military families at no charge which is truly remarkable sentiment... Soldiers far away are serviced with no hassle, and this is an exceptional support and recognition for their hard work......

We also Love Sprigs & miss Blossoms too our "Village Florists" ! They both are very creative and delightful personalities ! Plus they add a Beautiful Garden effect along the sidewalks with their gorgeous hanging plants etc !
brian miner April 26, 2012 at 03:15 PM
A response to Tylor's comment; Give it another try as you may not have been in the right mind or your vision was impaired... Your comment is so untrue that it sounds made-up....... but hey sore loser view is always skewed.... it is ironic that all Providence Florists utilize BZB for their deliveries and customer needs... BZB serves with best quality supplies from local and regional partners and thus it is impossible to suggest the quality is of an issue.... Given we all have our moods, customers see consistency in BZB with Quality, Service, Deliveries, Pricing and most importantly the reliability to have a happy experience each time they reach out to BZB ...Thank you EG for your support and keeping the local businesses afloat.... BZB is an over-achiever business model with great passion to service... give it a try and share your experience... Brian

I love Busy Bee and Giti is always a professional and delivers gorgeous flowers. We at St. Luke's Church use her for everything and she NEVER disappoints. Her prices are extremely reasonable and her quality it superb. Great work Giti. Barbara

Busy Bee has been our "go-to" florist for years. Giti's design and flower quality have served us for so many different occasions - get well, congratulations, Mother's Day, weddings and funerals, add the reliability and cheerful service (even at the last minute!!) - we can't imagine using any other florist!!! Robert F. Audet, Inc.

I thought this was supposed to be a friendly, informal poll of choice - since when does one person's opinion become fodder for ridicule because it doesn't concur with another's opinion?
Daniel D April 26, 2012 at 07:48 PM
My family and I have been placing orders with Busy Bee for years and I could not say enough about the extremely high level of professionalism, passionate customer service and reliability in every aspect. Giti Gerami who is in charge of this charming store, is in my opinion a true artist who puts in 100% for every single order and no matter what the occasion be. If you are looking for exceptional arrangements that are pleasantly unique or exciting party arrangements in this area, I would highly recommend the Busy Bee.

I love busy bee, can't wait for her to do my wedding this July. I've seen others she has done and everything from the centerpiece arrangements to the bridal bouquet is just beautiful!
John Cocktoaston April 26, 2012 at 10:17 PM
This is a joke. It's obvious someone is stuffing the ballot box for Busy Bee. Call me crazy but I don't think this many doctors came out of the woodwork to sign up for the Patch and write testimonials because they're all crazy about the same flower shop. Most of these glowing reviews for Busy Bee are attached to otherwise empty profiles. Nice try.
Steve Jordan April 26, 2012 at 11:38 PM
I have been doing business with Giti and Busy Bee for many years!! As the COO of Dominion Diagnostics Corporation, we purchased many beautiful arrangements from Giti for many special occasions at Dominion. He work is of the highest quality. Her arrangements are beautiful, well thought out, fresh and always exactly what was expected and more. As an individual, whenever there is a special occasion, and I want something exceptional, I talk to Giti! Her creativity, attention to detail, and her ability to go the extra mile are qualities that many businesses do not address. Her flowers are great, and I recommend her highly. My family and I are lucky to know Giti and we continue to wish her the best!! Steve Jordan
Gary April 27, 2012 at 12:18 AM
John -- you are not crazy, it has reached joke status. Amazing how Busy Bee got less than 30 votes on Monday and Tuesday combined, and yet in the last two days upped that by 220 votes ! Too bad, as it makes a mockery of what should be a friendly, local poll. As Patch states, definitely not a "scientific" poll.
Zahra, Zahedi April 27, 2012 at 01:21 AM
Zahra; On many occasions I have got flowers and plants from Giti in BZB. They are all lovely and beautiful. 2 years ago I bought a beautiful Begonia which is sitting in the middle of my dinning table so pretty, and healthy. She has always treated me with sweetness and respect. I have recommended her to all my coworkers. I wish her the best.
Peter April 27, 2012 at 02:21 AM
brian miner, It seems clear through your comments that you represent Busy Bee in some manner and your bias is understandable; however, this hardly seems the forum for your insults and intimidation. Calling someones opinion poor and stupid? Disappointing
East Greenwich Parent April 27, 2012 at 02:24 AM
John and Gary- Please be respectful. Just because Busy Bee is very popular due to its widespread generosity, excellent customer service and much more, there is no need to question people's real identity. These are all real people who support Busy Bee. I am sorry if you haven't had this much supporters but if you are good, there is going to be a good amount of supporters. Busy Bee is honestly the top florist in East Greenwich and it deserves all the fame! GO BUSY BEE!
John Cocktoaston April 27, 2012 at 03:03 AM
I stand corrected East Greenwich Parent. It makes perfect sense that 50 anonymous parents and a group of enterprise loving medical doctors (?) would all sign up for the Patch to have a say in the vote of the century- best EG flower shop. It's obvious from your post that you are just a concerned citizen and don't have any stake in Busy Bee whatsoever. Especially since you know firsthand that all of these identities are real. As you said, I don't have this much supporters. Admittedly, I wish I was good so I would have a good amount of supporters. Point taken. Busy Bee for life.
East Greenwich Parent April 27, 2012 at 03:17 AM
I don't have time for people like you. I don't know why it is difficult for you to comprehend that these are real people that CARE for Busy Bee.
Elizabeth McNamara (Editor) April 27, 2012 at 03:26 AM
This poll ends tomorrow morning at 9. It would be great to let people vote and go from there. This is NOT a scientific poll. Thanks.
Frederick Remington April 27, 2012 at 03:49 AM
Scientific? What local poll is? RI Mag's Best of RI is a total fraud from a truly 'best" standpoint; it is totally popularity based, and businesses urge their customers to login and vote. If Busy Bee is successful enough to have that many customers log in and vote, that's some testament to its quality and success in satisfying customers.
Frank Lenox April 27, 2012 at 10:11 AM
The Community Patches are about supporting local news, events and businesses; so I'm not certain why someone would slam a local business and encourage us to go to Providence to buy products, which obviously led to this chain of comments. As far as florists are concerned, I have used Busy Bee for over ten years to order flowers for school ceremonies and Giti has never disappointed me. In addition, we borrow potted plants to adore the stage for no charge. Customer loyalty is valued at Busy Bee.
John Cocktoaston April 27, 2012 at 11:59 AM
I don't think a scientifice sampling is necessary. Nor do I think there's anything wrong with a business encouraging customers to get involved in the vote. Its lame for any business to slam another by posing as a customer leaving a negative review But it's equally lame/tacky for a business to write generic, fake testimonials anout itself, which is what I'm speaking to. Either way this is all very entertaining and it gets people to engage the topic, so I guess it's still a win.
taylor bailey April 28, 2012 at 02:28 AM
This response is to "brian miner". First of all, my name is Taylor. Not Tylor. Secondly, my mind and vision are fine. Thirdly, I have no idea who or what "BZB" is. Finally, I made a statement based on personal experience. Last time I checked, I was allowed to do so, without threat of insult. So, now that I have read your ignorant rant, there is no doubt that I would not "give it another try". I am surprised that The East Greenwich Patch would support such pish posh. To: N. Schwab, thank you for your suggestion. I will certainly visit Janice at "Sprigs". My comment is in no way an insult to any individual. Just stating the facts.
taylor bailey April 28, 2012 at 02:36 AM
Well said, Jane.
taylor bailey April 28, 2012 at 02:41 AM
I did not "slam" a local business... I simply stated a fact. Nor, did I suggest anyone go to Providence. Again, simply stated what I choose to do. Freedom of speech? Anyone? Hello?
taylor bailey April 28, 2012 at 02:48 AM
Very observant, John. It is sad that an innocent idea has become so ghetto.
taylor bailey April 28, 2012 at 03:01 AM
Thank you Drew, for your eloquent and detailed recommendation. Will certainly pay a visit to Sprigs.
