Martins-Phipps Appointed to Appraisal Board

Local realtor picked for important board seat.

East Greenwich's Susan Martins-Phipps has been appointed to the Appraisal Foundation's Board of Trustees.

Martins-Phipps is a Certified Residential Appraiser and Licensed Agent at Phipps Real Estate Services in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. She is the immediate Past Chair of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) Real Property Valuation/Appraisal Committee, the current NAR Liaison to Portugal, and the NAR Federal Policy Coordinator for Senator Reed. She currently sits on the Kent/Washington Board of Realtors Grievance Committee. In addition, she has taught real estate classes on the state and national level.

Susan holds a B.A. from Providence College, a master’s degree from Rhode Island College, and has done post graduate work at Salve Regina University.

The Appraisal Foundation’s Board of Trustees ensures that the profession adapts to changing circumstances and continues to move forward. The Board oversees the work of Foundation’s other three independent boards, which provide appraisers with amended standards so that their work remains thorough, up to date, and accurate; offers voluntary guidance on recognized valuation methods and techniques to address the most pressing valuation questions; and sets minimum qualifications for real estate appraisers.
