New Restaurant Planned for former Post Office Cafe on Main Street

Town Council will consider raising the cap on liquor licenses from 32 to 33 on Monday in response to a new restaurant application for the spot at 11 Main St.

The East Greenwich Town Council on Monday will consider raising the cap on liquor licenses from 32 to 33 in response to an application for a liquor license from a restaurant company that hopes to open a new eatery in the former Post Office Cafe and Rok Bar and Grill location at 11 Main St.

The new restaurant, dubbed Havana's, would be operated by 818 Restaurant Group, LLC.

A call to lawyer Stephen M. Litwin, the registered agent for the LLC, was not immediately returned.

Documents on file with the state show 818 Restaurant Group registered with the state Division of Business Services in the secretary of state's office on March 18.

We'll post more details soon.
