Sun Shines For Arts On Main

After last week's rain-out, the annual chalk-art extravaganza got a sunny day Saturday.

By 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon, it was almost too warm for those still laboring on their chalk art drawings on Peirce Street and Courthouse Lane — a far cry from the cold, wet weather that caused Arts on Main to be postponed the week before.

No one was complaining.

Organizer Jane Parillo, who owns Scribe on Main Street and is also co-president of the Main Street Merchants Association, was very happy with event.

“I think this is one of the best examples of the collaboration between the Main Street Merchants Committee, the Town of East Greenwich, the larger business community, and the Chamber of Commerce working in concert to produce this event. I hope it will continue for years to come,” Parillo said.
