Geoff Millsom’s Victories Named “Most Important” in 2013
Rhode Island and Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly named 4 of the decisions that Geoff Millsom, Shareholder at Adler Pollock & Sheehan P.C. and East Greenwich resident, won on behalf of his clients among the “Most Important Decisions of 2013” and one of those decisions was ranked in the Top Ten. The decisions include: Stafford v. Levine, et al. (dismissal of class action claim under the Rhode Island Deceptive Trade Practices Act against an attorney accused of misleading advertisements); Marano v. RBS Citizens Financial Group, Inc. (holding that claims under the Rhode Island Uniform Commercial Code displace and require dismissal of bank customer’s common-law negligence and breach of contract claims against its bank); Bernkopf Goodman LL v. Hebert et al (dismissing non-customer’s claim against a bank arising out of a payroll company’s embezzlement of funds designated for payment of federal employment taxes); Innercity Recyling Service LLC v SMM New England Company (class action plaintiffs were not permitted to take discovery of defendant’s electronic database).
