Brighten the holidays for a shelter pet

Every shelter pet is asking for the same thing  - a home! We'd love to see as many of our animals as possible in homes for the holidays where they can finally get the love and attention they deserve. Check out our "home for the holidays" video. Adoption Day is Sundays from 10:30-1 so please come in if you're interested. But even if you can't adopt, there are MANY other ways to help make the season better for a homeless animal.
1) Foster! We have many lonely animals that would benefit tremendously from someone opening their heart and home to them even temporarily. We would love to see our cages empty for the holidays. We have many cats & a few dogs looking for fosters. If you can help please contact Tammy for dogs at 401-241-4541 or email her at onlygirlx33@aol.com and Nancy for cats at 401-732-8223 or email her at egaplri@gmail.com. This is a great way to help without making the long-time commitment of adopting & we cover the costs so all you have to give is love!
2) Stuff a stocking! Everyone deserves a little extra treat at the holidays to know someone cares. Stuff a stocking for one of our shelter animals for only $10.00 by donating at www.egapl.org. Tell us whose stocking you'd like to stuff - here is our album of adoptable furbabies.
3) Donate! Monetary donations of any size as well as donations of pet supplies are always greatly appreciated and needed. And we would like to give a HUGE thank you to the individuals, local businesses, and groups who have been collecting for us this year. Scribe Calligraphy and B&H Framing had a wonderful holiday open house last week and Hill & Harbour Veterinary Center has been collecting items for our animals in need during the holiday season and we've had many people stopping in with very kind donations for our animals - thank you all!
4) Do some shopping at iGive.com! We're sure you have some holiday shopping to do anyway, so why not help a good cause at the same time? Help East Greenwich Animal Protection League every time you shop: http://www.iGive.com/egapl/?p=19992&jltest=1
5) Share a homeless pet's photo! Just by clicking "share" on one of the animals posted on our Facebook page you may help them find a home! It's all about getting the right person to see them, and it may be one of your friends or family members. Please take a moment to "share" a homeless animal and help spread the word about them.

As always, thank you all for your continued support! Everyone at EGAPL wishes you and your family a happy and safe holiday season.
