EGAPL Hound Hike a Success!

Sunday's EGAPL Hound Hike fundraiser was very well attended and a fun day all around! There are lots of great pictures on our Facebook page. The weather couldn't have been better and it was wonderful to see many of our formerly adopted animals there with their forever families supporting us in our mission to save more lives. All of our EGAPL adopters truly become a part of OUR family so the Hound Hike is a very happy reunion for us, especially. There were also many of our currently adoptable animals there and they loved all the attention - and hopefully some will find homes as a result. This is truly what it's all about for us at EGAPL!

We could not continue doing what we do without the support of so many people. We would like to thank everyone that came out to the Hound Hike and hope you all had fun. We would also like to thank our amazing team of volunteers who worked long and hard to put together a day the everyone could enjoy. We had very generous sponsors including Alan Weiss, Centerville Bank, Ocean State Veterinary Services, Amica, RI Titles Unlimited, Allie's Tack & Feed, Bank of Newport, BFF Grooming, Bone Appetit, Critter Hut (NK), Flood Ford, Greenwich Bay Animal Hospital, and East Greenwich Animal Hospital;  Drs. Foster & Smith, Hill Science Diet, Nutro Food & Wysong. We would also like to express our appreciation for our own webmaster, Sharon, for her special donation and to everyone who donated.

There were also some great local vendors there we hope you'll support, including  Hill & Harbour Veterinary Services, Invisible Brand Fence, LAE Design, Doggies Doo, Cheeky Hound, Big River Veterinarians, Wiggles n Wags Pet Sitting, and Friends of Homeless Animals. Grille on Main kindly provided a very tasty lunch, too, that everyone really appreciated after working up an appetite walking.

We had many, many prizes donated by 57 local businesses - we are so grateful for their support.  A special recognition to WoodworxRI and Museum of Natural History/Roger Williams Park for their donations of the big raffle prizes; they were certainly crowd pleasers. And I think we can all agree that Kim Kalunian was a wonderful MC!

We are already looking forward to next year's Hound Hike and continue to look for ways to make it even better each year. If you attended the Hound Hike, we'd love to hear what your favorite part was - tell us in the comments section. If you couldn't make it and would still like to donate, you can always do so via our website at http://www.egapl.org/. Regular adoption hours will resume this Sunday at Greenwich Bay Animal Hospital on Post, Rd from 10:30-1.

Again, thank you for your continued support!
