Getting ready for our Hound Hike...

It is hard to believe our annual Hound Hike fundraiser is less than two months away now! This is the 17th year we've been doing this event (wow, how time flies!) and it's our biggest fundraiser of the year; the money raised allows us to save many lives that we wouldn't otherwise be able to.

Our volunteers have been hard at work for months laying the ground work for this year's walk to make it a success and the next seven weeks will continue to be very busy for us as we prepare continue to plan this fun-filled day for our supporters & their canine companions!

We are so thrilled about the "BIG" raffle items for the Hound Hike, which is being built for us and donated by  Woodworkri.com (http://www.woodworxri.com/). Check it out - it's an amazing
all-in-one Doggie house/bed/and food station! How cool is that?! They can also be built to order in any size if you're not the lucky winner of our raffle.

If YOU'D like to get involved in the Hound Hike, there a lot of ways help:
- Participate as a walker on September 29th and ask family and friends to support you by making a donation of any size that you can bring the day of the walk. Prizes are given for the top three adult and top three child money raisers. Fee per hiker $20.00; you can contact Renee Bucklin (rbucklin@hotmail.com) for a registration form in advance or register at the walk.
- EGAPL is currently looking for corporate sponsors to support the Hound Hike. If you are interested, please contact Nancy Davey at tdavey9@verizon.net for sponsorship info.
- Local vendors and merchants are asked to consider donating products, gift certificates, or services for the raffle valued at a minimum of $25. All businesses who donate a raffle prize receive a free business card size ad in the official Hound Hike Program. Contact Liz at billydlizzyd@verizon.net regarding raffle donations.
- You can also help by running an ad or placing a greeting in the official Hound Hike Program. A ½ page ad is $50, full page $100 or an 8-10 word ‘greeting’ is $15. Contact Jean Ann Guliano at (401)323-5196 or email houndhikeprogram@gmail.com for more information.
